How long will it take?

I once had a plasterer come to my flat and re plaster one of the walls in my bathroom. He was a quite man and wanted to be left alone to get on with the job. When he took a break we had a chat. He was an interesting man. I liked him. I asked how long it took to learn his skill. He said 18 months, but during that 18 months he had never gotten it right once. He had only ever started and gotten a little further each time but couldn’t quite get the finish right. His boss who was training him had to come in and always do the last bit. He told me he was obviously frustrated by this, but his boss was patient and told him that's just the way it goes. "Keep at it and you will get there". His boss had this level of patience because he had gone through it himself. So the man carried on and then one day it happened, he got it, he finished the job perfectly. After that day he never needed anyone to finish it off for him again, not once. He said, "Once you get it, you’ve got it". When he had finished the wall in my bathroom I inspected the work. It was amazing, perfect, not a mark, just a smooth wall, almost too good to paint over. I loved the idea that you couldn’t do it until you could.

I was thinking about this after he left. It really interested me that he never finished a job in all that time. He was always just one day away. To him it didn’t look or feel like that. He didn't know the day it would finally click, but he did keep practicing. He was encouraged by someone who had already been through it. Things just take as long as they take. We can speed things up a little if we are engaged in the process, but it always takes the perfect amount of time for each of us.

So I've been watching this world change and the old world burn down right in front of our very eyes. I've seen the lies being exposed and the truth coming out every day. I wonder how long it will take to go through this process so we can start rebuilding on truth. It's a common subject for anyone aware of what's been going on. The Revealing. I’ve been tricked into thinking it was going to be quicker, and that may happen again. There's been lots of talk of plans; white hats, self organised collectives, the great awakening and that behind the scenes they are working to bring the old corrupt empire crashing down. I believe some of this to be true because there's always been good people doing good things for thousands and thousands of years. Why wouldn’t there be? Good people have always been a part of this world. I get so excited to see all the new people waking up to the truth and reality of what's really been going on. There's a system of control that was unseen by nearly all. People are now finding out that what they had once believed in was never true. Youtube creators, Tik Tok kids, old celebs, all starting to see the real story here. Covid has done an amazing job at this. The lies have been witnessed, observed, felt and known. I’ve seen it in my own family, complete 180’s in ideas, beliefs and realisations. Once this happens, it can keep happening. The learning can be endless. I see so many signs that we are moving towards a tipping point. I’ve heard countless people give predictions on how long this will take and they maybe right. But I must say the only one who’s plan I trust is Gods and ours. Above all these little plans, victories and defeats, God has a master plan. Who are we to ask him to speed it up? We can all help. We can engage in what ever way we feel is right. We can practice everyday at being better. Better at communicating, better at feeling, better at listening, better at forgiving, better at trusting ourselves, better at being quite, better at what we consume, better at being truthful, better at seeking the truth, better at loving ourselves and others... the list is endless. I try to keep a feeling of excitement, a knowing that it's close. I couldn’t do any of these practices if enjoyment wasn't weaved into all of them. So how can you measure all of this going on, all the time, all over the world? You can’t. You just have to trust it is happening. Why? Well, if it's happening in your world then you can be sure it's happening in lots of others.

So when will this process be over? I guess it will feel like the man learning to plaster. Everyday he practised he was only ever one day away from mastery. Then no going back...
